Residents of Williamson County MUD #23 receive water and wastewater services through two separate utility providers.
Water Service — City of Georgetown
The City of Georgetown is the water service provider for MUD #23. Georgetown is responsible for operation, maintenance, and repairs associated with the public water system serving our community.

Wastewater/Sewer Service — City of Liberty Hill
The City of Liberty Hill provides wastewater/sewer service for MUD #23. Liberty Hill is responsible for operation, maintenance, and repairs associated with the public wastewater collection and treatment system serving our community.

Examples of wastewater issues that should be reported include sewer backups involving the public system, overflowing or damaged sewer infrastructure, lift-station problems, or other suspected wastewater system problems.
Why Does Georgetown Send Me One Bill?
Although two different cities provide these services, residents generally receive one utility bill from the City of Georgetown.
The City of Georgetown bills residents for both their water service and the wastewater service provided by the City of Liberty Hill. Georgetown then remits the appropriate wastewater portion to Liberty Hill.
In simple terms:
Water → City of Georgetown
Wastewater/Sewer → City of Liberty Hill
Your Utility Bill → City of Georgetown
What Is MUD #23’s Role?
Williamson County MUD #23 is not the day-to-day operator of the water or wastewater utility systems serving residents. Water system service and repairs are handled by the City of Georgetown, while wastewater system service and repairs are handled by the City of Liberty Hill.
Therefore, residents experiencing a water or wastewater service problem should contact the appropriate utility provider directly rather than reporting the issue to MUD #23.
